Green Money
seeing sound
July 9th 2026
Dear You,
Days have passed and the gap widens.
I watch from the edges. Those who still can and those who haven’t been able to for a while.
Keep calm and carry on spending. The electric car industry is booming. Oh the green, green money.
We take time out to be on the water on our paddle boards and kayaks. These treasured adventures are a joyous time of source connection, reflection and meditation.
Wading through silt, clay foot masked feet we paused on the river bank and baked in the heat of the slowly setting sun. The sea-mist lifting, evaporating back to sky. Chilled aperol spritz on-the-go….iechyd da! Lush green trees line the serpentine body of water at this time of year. Soft fuzzy edges and dream-like hues. We imagined life without the system of money and in this process our minds expanded at the thought and the felt possibility of this reality. How would it feel to exist without the day being plagued with thoughts about money? About a mile away I could see the reflection of the sunlight on the window pane of the greenhouse in my neighbour’s garden —
** a second sun**
—beaming out like the brightest star from the leafy green cwm. The stellar light travelled to the surface of the river dancing sublimely as it does on gently moving water, tides and wind. The relationship of the whole. Taking time to notice, to ponder, observe and recognise the ripples I might create.
We carried on up river to town where people were eating pizza and drinking beer at the wooden shacks overlooking the water. The old stone bridge stood as it has done for over a century bridging the ground between two worlds, creating possibilities and nurturing safe travel across the Afon Teifi…high and low, in and out….The shadow of a man running along the footbridge was projected onto the wall of the old stone bridge, playing like a stop-motion movie. I watched as his projection ran across the width of the river. The image of the railings reflecting on the surface like Op Art of the 1960’s. We passed under the arches and the riverside church began its evening bell practice. The bells rang in melodic harmony.

the sound changed the patterns on the water
Mesmerised in awe at the complex simplicity of this relationship. The chaotic and the ordered.
The water was hypnotically vibrating in a band across the river.
When the bells paused we observed as the vibrational pattern slowly faded back to calmer waters, re-emerging when they chimed in again.
We thought about the water within our own bodies. The powerful healing properties of sound.
Did the bell ringers know they were creating patterns on the surface of the river?
The bells chime and remind me to be conscious of the sacred that can be found in everything.
Until next time,
have a wonderful Summertime.
I remain most humbly your loyal friend in service
Erin
