Sun of God

Dear You,

This is a quick letter, perhaps even a note. I trust you are in good spirits after the festive season.

I want to write you a quick story.

One day in the chaos before Christmas, I was running my Art stall at a market and as I got my phone out to take a payment, my screensaver of Jesus shone out from my little black mirror like the apostle he is. ‘Seasonal’ the man said. And then I went on to explain unnecessarily that I wasn’t Christian, but that I wanted to tap into the energy of Christ consciousness… I know it sounds cliché. Christ as the Light.

If you’ve opened my letter dated May 12th 2025, Water Blood Light, you’ll know that I am thinking about the idea that the light from the Sun is consciousness and Water is the conduit. I swear this idea has been floating around in my mind after numerous transcendental paddle-boarding trips out at sea. We paddle out in the early evening, bringing us back to shore as the sun begins to set. The low light rays of the sun at this time reflect off the water with majesty. The sunset sky, hues of pearlescent pinks, purples, oranges, muted neons, dark indigos, create heaven on earth, the shimmering light, the glitter path, the sparkling ladder to…

The aim is to head to the light whilst also living as beings of weight and matter (and I have been tempted to keep paddling into the Sun, hypnotised by the sublime). When we live in the Light we are conscious. The concept that God is Light is ancient, but the idea that Water is the vessel is a relatively new one. 1*

We have just celebrated Winter Solstice. The festival of Light. Now what follows are the 12 Nights to perihelion, the time when Earth is at its closest point to the Sun. This year perihelion falls on the first full moon of the year 🌕☀️Perihelion is the original day of the Christian Epiphany. Yes, I believe Christian religion also shifted the dates of the Winter Solstice (around 21st Dec) to become Christ-mass and Perehelion (around the 3rd Jan) to the day of Epiphany on the 6th. What makes most sense to me is that the Solstice marks the start of the return of the Light, and the 12 nights following are an in-between time to the point when the Sun, the Light of Consciousness is revealed, in an epiphany. When we get a profound insight, an awakening perhaps, as we come close to God, the Sun. The 12 nights are an important time of reflection, of dreaming and tuning into your body and your energy. My dreams are intensely vivid at the moment, and hypnagogic states are happening every evening. I’m loving it.

The Omen Days are part of my awakening this year. They are a Celtic tradition, practiced in Ireland. I’d never even heard of them until a week ago. They are a divination tool for the year ahead, inviting you to observe and witness the signs from nature each day until the 12th Night. Each night corresponds to a month in the upcoming year.

This practice connects me to my ancestors, with the divine, with the cycles, the movement of the stars and celestial bodies in the night sky, the seasons and the signs that appear.

Here are my Omen Days so far…perhaps they will make sense to me later.

Day 1 - The mackerel sky is silent. Silence with those you love is a place of comfort and safety - January

Day 2 - Passenger on the journey, at full speed. When my eyes are closed, the light of the sun flickering through the trees creates kaleidoscopic patterns on my eyelids, creating an unknown landscape. February

Day 3 - Observing the Sun as it plays with the Water of the gently lapping tide on the sand, will restore you. March

Day 4 - The Earth Angels need celebrating. April

Day 5 - The Ash trees shoot up in anticipation for Spring. Everything is born with an innate desire to live and thrive . The body heals in mysterious, miraculous ways. May

Day 6- I can see around corners on the woodland path. June
